Well, this is not mine....

I just posted my profile picture.
Well, the piano is not mine...

I lived in Tokyo for 4months working at a Classical music agency
and that wasn't the best experience of my life although I learned a great deal of things
in the short amount of time.

When I first got to Tokyo, I didn't have a job lined up and all I had was about $500 that I borrowed.
I had made an arrangement to stay with an old friend of mine from high school
until I get my things going in Tokyo.

One week after arriving in Tokyo, I got a job at a Classical music agency.
What kind of miracle is that? Life ain't too bad.... I thought at the time.
Well, the job turned out to be different from the president told me in every aspect.
The job ruled my life since the moment I stepped into that company.

I had two days off in a month, and one of which was a sick-leave.
Of course, I had no energy or time left to go play the piano
much less go find a piano rental studio I could practice in Tokyo.

When I was on the job listening to a young pianist play the Chopin Ballade no.1,
it made me so emotional. I didn't know what that meant.
I just felt so sad that I was playing the piano at all
and I was starting to feel so numb inside.

Well, I quit the job in three months before I thought I was going to hate music.
I took that picture of myself in front of the piano on the first day that I played the piano
since I quit the job. That explains my smile...

Options for Grand Piano

Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver is all Steinway school.
I guess I was spoiled to be able to play good instruments at all times...

So what are my options?

Steinway
Yamaha
Kawai
Bosendofer
Petrof

Did I miss any? Let me know if you know other good instruments.

Ai Sato Grand Piano Project!!

When I was playing Mozart on a digital keyboard yesterday,
I imagined myself having a "Grand Piano."

How nice would that be?

I've been playing the piano for a long time and I received a master's degree in Piano Performance.
Yet, I don't have a decent piano to play on...
I feel that there are many things that I just can't do on a digital piano. Then I thought...

What if I make a site that lead me to a dream grand piano?

All the proceeds from the site go to the fund for "Ai Sato Grand Piano Project."
I am hoping some people will understand the purpose of this site
and help me in any small way.... everything counts.
